On a phone, the first screen of a product page should show the product name, the price and the buy button, or at least the first two plus a clear way to the third. If the shopper has to scroll to find the price, you have made a decision for them. This check tests that on a typical phone screen.

Why it matters

Most shoppers decide from the first view whether to continue. Tall image carousels, long titles and badges can push the price and buy button off the screen. The result is hesitation at the exact point where the page should be easiest to act on.

What the audit looks at

The audit checks whether the product name, price and buy control can be seen on the first phone screen without scrolling.

What usually causes it

  • A square gallery image that takes most of the screen height
  • Long product titles that wrap to several lines
  • Announcement bars and sticky headers that eat vertical space
  • Reviews or badges placed above the price

How to fix it

Get image, title, price, variants and the buy button into the first screen on mobile. The effort is medium, a theme or template edit that takes an afternoon.

  1. Check on a real phone, not a resized browser window. Address-bar chrome costs roughly 100px that a desktop simulation does not show.
  2. Move promotional banners and long descriptions below the buy control.
  3. If it cannot all fit, a sticky add-to-cart bar recovers most of the loss.

How to check it yourself

  1. Open a product page on a phone and take a screenshot without scrolling.
  2. Check whether name, price and button all appear.
  3. Test a product with a long title and one with several options.

Frequently asked questions

Does the button have to be above the fold?

Ideally the price is, and the button is visible or reachable by a sticky bar. The aim is that nothing important is hidden.

What screen size do you test?

A common phone viewport of 390 by 844 pixels.
