The scan

What happens when you paste a store URL

A real browser, not a crawler

Pages load in a real Chromium browser, so scripts run, tags fire and the page you audit is the page a shopper sees.

Desktop and mobile

Home and product pages are captured at desktop and phone sizes, with full-page screenshots of each.

Every request recorded

See which scripts, pixels and third parties load, how heavy they are and whether they succeeded.

A platform it recognises

Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce and other platforms are detected from the page, which decides the fix steps you see.

What it checks

Five areas, 200+ checks

Each area is scored on its own, then weighted into the Store Health Score. A critical failure caps its area at 49, so one serious problem cannot hide behind many small passes.

Speed

Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint from real visitors, server response time, page weight, image formats and third-party script weight, taken from Google PageSpeed Insights.

Conversion and UX

Whether the price and buy button fit the first phone screen, how many angles the gallery shows, breadcrumbs, search, tap targets and what the first screen says the store sells.

Trust and policies

Returns, shipping, privacy and terms pages that shoppers can find, review ratings on the product page, a way to make contact and a store served over HTTPS.

Tracking and tech

Whether the Meta Pixel fires PageView, whether Google Analytics 4 collects, duplicate properties, double-loaded tags and a cookie consent mechanism.

Store discovery

Indexability, canonical URLs, Product structured data with a real price and availability, and what a shared link looks like.

The purchase flow

It walks the path a shopper walks

Where a store allows it, the audit follows the path a shopper takes from the product page to the cart and on to checkout.

  1. 01

    Product page

Checks the buy button, price, gallery, variants and the questions a shopper cannot answer without hunting.

  2. 02

    Add to cart

Where the store allows it, the browser adds an item to the cart.

  3. 03

    Cart

Reads the cart page: coupon field, quantity control, delivery information and trust cues.

  4. 04

    Checkout

Reaches the checkout page where the platform permits and records what it shows.

Read-only

It looks. It never touches.

  • No admin access

Nothing to install and no login to share. It reads what a visitor can see.

  • No forms filled in

It never enters details at checkout.

  • No orders placed

Add to cart is as far as it goes, and only where the store allows it.

Speed

Speed that points at the cause

Pages across your store

Speed is measured on more than the home page, so a slow template shows up apart from a slow site.

Lab and field data together

Lighthouse lab results and real-visitor data from the Chrome UX Report arrive in one call from PageSpeed Insights.

The element named

The Largest Contentful Paint element and the element that shifts the layout are identified by selector.

What is slow, named

Where it can, the report names the theme file, plugin or app behind a slow script or stylesheet.

The report

Six views of one audit

Overview

The score, the five areas and what changed since the last run.

Issues

Findings grouped as critical issues, needs improvement and good practices, each expandable to its evidence.

Page review

The pages captured, with screenshots and the findings that apply to each.

Fix plan

Open findings ordered by impact and effort, filterable by how long a fix takes.

Pages

Status, load metrics and desktop and mobile screenshots for every page scanned.

History

The score over time for the same site, run after run.

Fixes

Every finding comes with a next step

Fix guidance is a claim about someone else's admin panel, so each entry is written for the platform it names and reviewed against it.

01Steps for your platform

Every check has fix steps. Where the platform differs, Shopify and WooCommerce get their own steps.

02Effort on every fix

Each fix is marked small, medium or large, so you can start with the cheap ones.

03Exact fixes from your own store

For layout shift, Largest Contentful Paint and template speed, the steps name the real element and files found on your store.

04Links to vendor documentation

Fixes that need a vendor setting link to that vendor's own guide.

05Ask for help

The public report has a request form for people who want someone else to make the change.

History and monitoring

See what changed between runs

Compared with the last run

Every finding is marked fixed, new or regressed against the previous audit of the same site.

Score trend

A chart of the Store Health Score for each run.

Scheduled monitoring

Paid plans re-run audits on a schedule, so a theme update that reopens an old problem shows up that week.

Sharing and white-label

Send the report under your name

01

White-label PDF

A PDF with your logo and colours, where you choose which sections to include.

02

Shared links

Send a report link with an optional password, an expiry date and a view limit, and revoke it at any time.

03

A trail of who looked

See who opened the report, who downloaded the PDF and who commented, and export the trail as CSV.

04

Client portal

On Scale and Enterprise, clients open the report in a portal under your name or your own domain.

05

Comments on findings

Clients and your team comment on a specific finding or a highlighted passage. Staff can keep notes internal, assign them and mention a teammate.

06

Alerts

Email and Slack tell you when a client first opens a report, signs it off or comments, and a daily digest summarises the activity.

Teams and access

The right people see the right sites

An account holds your sites, audits and members. Admins decide whether a member sees every site or only chosen ones, and a member can also be given every site that carries a tag.

admin

Everything, including billing, branding and the team.

member

Runs audits and manages sites. No billing and no team changes.

viewer

Reads only. Built for handing a client a login.

Accuracy

A score you can check and compare

Evidence on every finding

Each result names the page, element or measured value behind it, so you can check it on your own store.

The same checks every time

Every store is held to the same set of checks, so scores are comparable between sites and between your own runs.

Real-store benchmarks

See how a score compares with the latest audit of every store we have scanned, by platform and by check.

Honest about its limits

The audit reads public pages. A check that cannot be answered from what a visitor can see is left out, not guessed.

Platforms

Works on any public store

Shopify

Full audit with platform-specific fixes.

WooCommerce

Full audit with fixes for plugins, themes and WordPress settings.

BigCommerce

Full audit with general fix steps.

Other storefronts

Full audit. Fix steps are general, and the audit says when it could not find a product page.

FAQs

What people ask first

001What does the audit not do?

It reads public pages only. It does not see your analytics, your orders or anything behind a login, and it does not fill in forms or place orders.

002Does it work on a store I do not own?

Yes. Nothing needs to be installed or shared, so any public store can be audited, including a competitor or a prospect.

003How often should I run it?

After any theme, app or plugin change, and on a schedule for stores you manage. Paid plans can monitor automatically.

004Which checks are included in the free report?

The free report shows the more important findings in each group and says how many it holds back. The score uses every finding.

005Can my team use it together?

Yes. Plans include seats, and an admin can limit each member to chosen sites.

006Can I export the results?

Tables export to CSV, and reports export to PDF. A client activity trail exports as CSV.

Run the audit on your own store.

Free, and the report link works as soon as the audit starts.
