Not enough data

A short note about returns in the cart, such as "Free returns within 30 days" with a link to the policy, answers the doubt that stops many purchases. This check looks for it on the cart page.

Why it matters

The question of what if it is wrong peaks at the cart. A line that answers it removes the pause. It matters most for categories with high return rates.

What the audit looks at

The audit reads the cart page for text or a link referring to returns or refunds.

What usually causes it

  • Returns information only in the footer
  • A policy link that opens a long page in the same tab and loses the cart
  • No clear return window to state
  • A theme with no space for a note

How to fix it

Put a short returns reassurance next to the checkout button. The effort is small, usually a setting or a paste and under 30 minutes.

  1. Add one line under the cart total, such as "Free 30-day returns", linked to the returns policy.

On Shopify

  1. Online Store > Themes > Customize > Cart: add a text or rich-text block near the checkout button, or use your theme's trust-badge block if it has one.

On WooCommerce

  1. Add the line with a block in the cart page editor, or hook it under the totals in your child theme (woocommerce_after_cart_totals).

How to check it yourself

  1. Look for returns wording in the cart.
  2. Click the policy link and check it opens without losing the cart.
  3. Make sure the wording matches the policy.
